How my writing started
I first started writing as a teenager, I mainly wrote poetry. I sent a collection of my poems off to a publisher and they wanted to publish my poems, I was thrilled – I could not believe anybody could be interested in my writing.
How it continued…
As life went, on I wrote short stories and then I wanted to write a novel but I was too scared, I did not know where to start. So, I put off writing for many years. After completing a short college course and receiving positive feedback on my writing in pushed me to delve more into my writing but I felt silly and thought I should use my time towards building a life for myself. The feeling of self doubt getting the better of me.
Juggling too many things…
It felt like I was juggling too many things studying, working, commuting and making time for family. Not to mention looking for a new job to reduce my commuting time down.
More motivation…
Finally I landed a job locally and this freed up my time. I decided to signup for an Open University degree in English literature and Creative Writing. I completed this degree last year, it was hard work but I did it! I received a 2.1! I am so pleased with myself. Now that all that is complete I feel that I am ready to take my writing more seriously than I have done before. So, here I am with the creation of this blog and website Taming of the Antithesis Proposition.

1998
My First Collection of Poems
I wrote my first collection of poems and sent them off to be published.
2001
My First Collection of Short Stories
I wrote and collating my first collection of short stories, still on my computer which I will publish and upload at some point in the future. If I am not too embarrassed to show them.
2004
Short Creative Writing Course
I completed a short creative writing course and produced a collection of short stories for my writing portfolio.
2024
Open University
I completed my degree in English literature and Creative Writing received a 2.1. Completed a portfolio of writing for my course. I created this blog Taming of the antithesis proposition.
2025
Masters in Creative Writing
I am applying to do my Masters in Creative Writing to commence in September 2025.
